Trek to Everest Balcony.
This trek discovers the Everest massif with its giant peaks without going to high altitude. The route takes you through forests of pine and rhododendron variety to the Sherpa villages and Buddhist monasteries, Namche Bazaar, the capital of Sherpas and the Tibetan market, Pangboche, the highest inhabited village at 4000 mtr high ... It combines the strong points of three countries: landscapes, people and heritage.
Generals Information
Duration: 9 days Ktm to Ktm and 8 days to Trek . Day / walk, 3/30hrs to 6 hrs.Elevation: Steps ranging from 2830m to 4000m. Accommodation: lodges. Favorable periods: from late February to mid May and late September to early December.Climax: to discovery of Everest and its environment.
Itinerary
- Day 1:
- Airport reception and transfer to hotel.
- Day 2:
- Visit inKathmandu(temples, monasteries, medieval museums, shopping ...) and presentation of the trek with the guide.
- Day 3:
- Flight to Lukla / Phakding; (2600m) the first suspension bridge. 3hrs of walking.
- Day 4:
- Phakding / Namche Bazaar; (3440 m) the first view of Everest. 6hrs of walking.
- Day 5:
- rest Day and acclimatization and visit Namche Bazaar.
- Day 6:
- Trek to Thame acclimatization to 3800 m; caravans of yaks adorned with bells and colored ribbons back fromTibet. 6h30min of walking.
- Day 7:
- Namche Bazaar / Phortse (3800m) Lunch at Mong-La pass, a panoramic viewpoint on Everest, Amadablam with many surrounding peaks. 6 hrs of walking.
- Day 8:
- Phortse / Tengboche; (3860m) Visit Pangboche, the highest inhabited Sherpa village permanently, (monastery, chortens, surrounding walls). Tengboche display the largest and most attractive monastery of the Khumbu region. 6hrs of walking.
- Day 9:
- Tengboche / Manjo; (2800m) Discovery of prayer wheels moved by the brook; view on a cirque of summits (Thamserku, Khangtega, Amadablam) 6hrs of walking.
- Day 10:
- Manjo / Lukla; (2800m) /Back from the villages. 6hrs of walking.
- Day 11:
- Lukla /Kathmandu; a flight of 40 minutes. Installation at hotel and free day.
