Testimonials

Great Trek

We just completed a 14 day Langtang Valley and Gosainkund Lakes trek with Kalu (March 2012).  It was a fantastic adventure.  We were looking for a custom, turnkey itinerary suitable for a couple in our mid 50’s.  Kalu recommended the trek we just completed and it worked perfectly.  He also picked us up at the Kathmandu airport, organized hotel accommodation in Kathmandu and helped us with a side trip to Pokhara.

We certainly would recommend Kalu and Nepal Azimuth Travel. The trek cost was about half of what it would cost if we had booked through a North American based agency, yet we received everything we needed in a very no worry, stress free manner.  Kalu’s English is great and he has a western orientation having lived in Holland for a year.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Kalu’s father and brother at our trek ending wrap up dinner in Kalu’s apartment.  Kalu has been providing guide services for the past 10 years, following his fathers 30 years of Nepal guide services.  It certainly runs in the family.

Our trek video is available on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ef5SZSyZRB) and a travel blog at (http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Anette-Martin/). Also  happy to share our experiences via email at (kennethmartin@shaw.ca)

Tamang Heritage Trail and Langtang Gosaikund Trekking…
Namaste!!!

Last February of 2011 I booked a trekking in Langtang Region by Nepal Azimuth treks. Thereby I also met Kalu. Kalu has actually a double function, besides guide he also becomes your friend. Very nice guy..
By the way, after 7 hours bus journey we had an overnight stay in Syabru Besi. The Trekking We had started up from Syabru Bensi for the Langtang heritage trail. Very interesting to see how these people live and handle their daily living life and business it completely imagination for me. From the heritage trail we went up to kangin Gompa. From Kangin Gompa We took the excursion to the viewpoint from where we could see all the way back in the vally. There is always time for fun with Kalu as we had made our own ´Yeti the beautiful Snowman´ on the snowy slopes at kangin. Before we left we bought 1kg of delicious yak cheese in Kyanjn, which also became our companion for the rest of trek. (Although, the cheese makes very thirsty that will support to drink more water that is really good to feel well because we have to drink a lot when we are on the high altitude). From kangin we went all the way down to Bamboo. From Bamboo We went again up to the holy lakes of Gosaikunda. Allthough, there was lots of snow and ice was a very nice place. From Gosaikunda we crossed the Laurabina la and continued all the way to Sundarjial. To end up down in Kathmandu we had some fantastic food in one of the cheap but very good restaurants in Lazimpat. So if you are looking for a good trek guide I can really recommend Kalu. He always reminds to enjoy the beautiful scenery and nature, which I sometimes forgot being in my exercise rithym.
Come as a tourist and you will certainly leave as a friend.

Thanks again Kalu Dai, and Nepal Azimuth Treks staff for this beautiful experience memorable services and kindness help…

Greetings from Mark
