GORKHA : Situated 120 km northwest of Kathmandu you find Gorkha, where King Prithvi Narayan Shah the great, who unified the Kingdom of Nepal during the 18th century, was born. On the top of a fortified hill over the township approximately one hour's walk uphill the Gorkha Durbar is situated. From here you can get a fantastic panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges.
LUMBINI : This is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the apostle of peace, compassion and non-violence. The Lumbini garden complex has a stone pillar commemorating the visit of Emperor Ashoka around 250 BC. It is situated 306 km from Kathmandu in the southwest Terai of Nepal.
MUKTINATH : 18 km northeast of Jomsom – where to you can either fly from Pokhara or trek for 7-8 days - at an altitude of approx 3749 m, you will find the famous temple of lord Muktinath in the district of Mustang. It takes about 7-8 hours walking from Jomsom to get here. The temple can be visited during fair weather only. The main shrine is a pagoda shaped temple dedicated to lord Vishnu. Placed into the wall around the temple, are 108 waterspouts from where holy water is pouring. This temple considered sacred by Hindus as well as Buddhist.
